The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating following a violent assault in St. John’s last night.

The RNC received the first call around 10 p.m. from the area of Linden Place, and a short time later received a second call—this time from the next street over on Beech Place.

When police arrived they found a 20-year-old man with what’s described as serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.

They say the incident is not believed to be random and there are no concerns for public safety at this time.

Police are asking anyone with information, or video footage from the area between 9 and 11 p.m. to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
