The provincial government is soon joining Ottawa and other provincial governments in enforcing the use of mandatory electronic logging devices for commercial vehicle drivers cross provincial and territorial borders.

The new measure will be enforced starting January 1st at weigh scale stations across the province.
Carriers operating only in NL are not required to install and use electronic logging devices at this time, however the province is currently working on implementing similar requirements for provincial carriers later on in the new year.
All provincial carriers are being encouraged to take the necessary steps to comply with the new electronic logging device mandate.
