Firefighters battled through the night to knock down a major industrial fire at Yates Boat Yard in Springdale last night.

The fire, in a busy industrial and commercial area of town, forced the evacuation of a nearby senior’s home.

Both RCMP and the Springdale Fire Department were asking residents to stay away from Corporal Bouzane Boulevard and Little Bay Road last night as firefighters concentrated on containing the massive blaze.

The main road is now passable but expect delays.
