Hampers of fresh vegetables have been delivered to more than 100 seniors and veterans in Sunnyside, Trinity Bay.

Amanda Drover and her friend Amanda Parsons knew they wanted to do something for seniors in the community, and decided that vegetable hampers would be the way to go.

Drover, who has been involved in the Princess and the Purse initiative over the last five years, says Parsons, who now lives in Alberta, came up with the idea of a veggie hamper.

102 hampers were delivered to seniors 60-plus in the community including four veterans.
