A Newfoundland business owner who was stuck in Chile when the paperwork allowing her to return to the province didn’t come through, is coming home of Christmas Day.
Constanza Safatle, a Chilean lawyer who came to the province with her family and founded the children’s store Newbornlander, recently paid a visit to Chile with her family.
Her husband and children had received the documents they needed electronically and she took the chance deciding to travel believing that her documents would come in before they were set to return.
Immigration Minister Gerry Byrne says he’s happy to say that the situation is now sorted out and Safatle will be returning to Newfoundland on Christmas day.
