A Newfoundland business owner is on her way back to the province after sitting in limbo in Chile for several weeks.
Constanza Sefatle opened her baby store Newbornlander to much fanfare from the federal and provincial governments earlier this year, however she got stuck in bureaucratic limbo following a recent return to Chile on family business.
While her husband and children received the necessary documentation to return to Canada, Constanza’s electronic documentation never came.
Immigration Minister Gerry Byrne says they managed to get her the card and paperwork needed and she’s on her way home today to be reunited with her family for Christmas.
Byrne says there are a lot of issues that need to be addressed with the federal government when it comes to permanent residency, the processing of applications, work visas and student visas and he’s committed to help newcomers by working with the federal government to help ease the way. He wishes Constanza, Tomas and her entire family a very Merry Christmas.
