The RNC stopped about 600 vehicles on Torbay Road last night but found only one impaired driver.
A 19-year-old man was charged with impaired driving by drug. An investigation is ongoing.
The checkpoint was set up at about 9:30. Police issued several tickets to drivers who lacked the necessary credentials such as insurance and registration.
