The outgoing president of the FFAW says he’s leaving the union in a good place but admits there are a number of serious challenges ahead.
After eight years in the position, Keith Sullivan is stepping down from the union’s top job this month.
He says the biggest among them is the cost of living which is driving costs up for everyone, including harvesters.
One of the issues that doesn’t seem to be getting government attention is what the union says is the increased concentration of corporate control of the inshore fishery.
“They have to acknowledge it and do something about it,” says Sullivan.
