RCMP on the Burin Peninsula are investigating an apparent case of impaired driving which could have ended in tragedy.
Police were called shortly before 8 p.m. on Wednesday after a vehicle travelling on the highway crossed over the centre line and into oncoming traffic.
The vehicle sideswiped another. Police say the driver was arrested for impaired driving and provided breath samples that were over the legal limit.
The investigation continues.
