It was high drama in Halifax last night but Canada pulled it out with a goal six minutes into overtime to claim the gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championship.
It was one for the ages with Canada up 2 to 0 until Czechia tied it up.
Czechia upset Canada 5 to 2 in the Boxing Day opener.
Connor Bedard was named tournament MVP.
Zach Dean of Mount Pearl, who has family roots in the Botwood area, says he has never seen fans like that before in terms of intensity.
