The Executive Director of the College of Registered Nurses is calling her recent trip to Bengaluru, India an “excellent experience.”

Lynn Power was part of a recent delegation to the country to visit a number of nursing schools in hopes of attracting graduates to this province to work.

India has more than 5,000 nursing schools, and their output is seen as an opportunity to fill nursing vacancies in this province.

Power had an opportunity to meet with officials and students, put Newfoundland and Labrador on the map, and ensure that the teaching requirements at the schools they visited are in line with those in this province.

She says their reception was good and it was a great chance to broaden the students’ understanding of Canada beyond Ontario and BC.
