Walmart in Stephenville had to be evacuated over the weekend due to a threatening phone call.

On Saturday, January 7, the store received an anonymous phone call where threats were made against the store and everyone inside. Police went to the scene and evacuated patrons before searching the store.

The situation was cleared of any possible harm, however Walmart remained closed for most of the day.

RCMP are asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to contact Bay St. George RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
