A Clarke’s Beach man, already before the courts on charges related to alleged drug trafficking, has been arrested on the west coast.

According to the RCMP, 28-year-old Christian Woodford was arrested by RCMP-RNC Joint Forces Operation West last Thursday.

Following his arrest, police searched a hotel room in Deer Lake where they say a large amount of cash, believed to be the proceeds of crime, was located.

Charges already against Woodford include conspiracy to traffic a controlled substance, as well as other possession, and possession for the purpose of trafficking charges.

Woodford is now facing three additional charges of breaching his release orders.

He appeared in court last Friday and is slated for another court appearance on Thursday.

An investigation into the money seized is continuing.
