West coast police are searching for a suspect or suspects in a break-in and assault early this morning.

At around 4 a.m., Corner Brook RNC were called to a home on Pleasant Street to a break and enter and assault with a weapon.

When police arrived, the suspect had already fled. The man who lived in the home suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was sent to hospital by ambulance.

The incident remains under investigation.
