A bomb threat forced the evacuation of Brother Rice Junior High School today.
RNC searched the building but found no concerns.
They say they have identified a suspect responsible for the false alarm and resulting disruption, but they did not say who it is.
In an urgent advisory sent to parents around noon, the school said “the safety and security of our students is our top priority and the administration takes these matters very seriously.”
As per the school’s evacuation procedure, students were moved to neighbouring Holy Heart of Mary high school while police investigated.
In an update shortly after 1:30 this afternoon, the school said the RNC has swept and checked the area.
Given the time, school officials decided to dismiss students for the day.
However, they say students will not be permitted to enter the school and get their personal belongings until Monday.
