The RCMP has released an update on its investigation into a bizarre sequence of events in Campbellton, Notre Dame Bay last weekend.

Police and firefighters were called to a series of unusual events starting with a vehicle crash off the road on the main highway, followed by a home invasion, a car fire, house fire and sudden death.

A 40-year-old man, found dead inside the home, passed away as a result of the fire.

Police says as the result of their investigation, the deceased was found to be the only person responsible for each of the crimes.
