Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro says all of their systems have been checked and crews are on standby for the mixed bag of weather hitting the west coast and central today.

Scott Crosbie, Vice President of Regulated Operations with NL Hydro, says they have been preparing over the last several days for the system.

He says their equipment is in “really great shape” to deal with the storm.

Crosbie says customers should know that their crews will be out “as soon as it’s safe to respond.”

He says some areas of the province such The Baie Verte Peninsula, the Northern Peninsula, and the south coast communication can dicey, and as such updates may be slower to come out.
