The Newfoundland Rogues have signed Ron Artest III as their final player with less than a week to go before opening night at Mary Brown’s Centre.
The son of famed NBA player Ron Artest, who in recent years has changed his name to Metta Sandiford-Artest, flew into the province on Thursday from Los Angeles, and over the next few days will be participating in training camp with the rest of the Rogues roster.

Artest says he will be bringing physicality and energy to the team, which will make everyone around him better.
Artest jokes that the Newfoundland climate is something he’ll need to get used to.
He jokes that he needs to turn the heaters on.
Artest and the rest of the team will take to the court at Mary Browns Centre on Friday to begin a two game series against the Raleigh firebirds.
