A local senior hockey team is celebrating the life of a young fan this afternoon.
The Conception Bay Senior Blues are hosting a superheroes game in memory of 6-year-old Sammy Porter, who passed away in a drowning incident in July of 2022.
Porter was an avid sports fan and athlete, especially when it came to hockey.
The game will be in aid of Sammy’s Climb Higher Foundation, an non for profit dedicated to giving back to the local sports community.
The game gets underway at the Conception Bay Arena this afternoon at 2:30 p.m. with the Blues taking on the HGOE CeeBee Stars.
