The St. John’s Regional Fire Department made quick work of a fire at the King George V Soccer Field.
Calls began coming in around suppertime on Saturday evening. Nearby residents reported seeing the blaze coming from a storage shed at the facility.
Crews were able to extinguish the fire quickly and avoid any serious damage.
There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is unknown.
