A renowned musician from this province has passed away.
Baxter Wareham, known for his skill on the button accordion, passed away late last week.
His family confirmed his passing via social media.
Hailing from Harbour Buffett in Placentia Bay, Wareham was a celebrated traditional and folk artist, touring worldwide as a part of many different musical groups including the Wareham Brothers, the Breakwater Boys and Bristol’s Hope. The award winning musician was celebrated for his songs of the seafaring folk he grew up with.
Wareham also taught high school for 30 years.
Funeral details are yet to be announced.
