An update has provided on the search for a missing stuffed animal that was accidentally tossed in a donation bin.
About a week ago, Michael Burry took to social media looking for the public’s help in finding a stuffed cat from Build-a-Bear Workshop that belonged to his 6-year-old daughter Scarlett.
Burry had made the stuffed toy for his daughter while on a work trip and had customized it with a special voice message inside, but while sorting toys to donate to the Diabetes Canada bins, the toy was accidentally tossed in the wrong pile.
Following thousands of shares online and dozens of trips to Value Village, there was no luck in finding Scarlett’s stuffed cat, but a family friend was kind enough to offer a solution.
Burry’s friend who lives outside of Toronto is heading to a Build-a-Bear later this week to try and find the exact designed stuffed cat. He also sent his friend a voice recording identical to the one in the original toy so it can be inserted into the new bear.
Burry is hoping to surprise Scarlett with the new teddy sometime next week.
