Residents of Harbour Grace who use the Old Southside Well will be without their source of water for another day.
Arsenic levels have exceeded the Canadian guidelines.
Harbour Grace Mayor Don Coombs says the issue stems from the failure of the well’s filters. He says new filters should be installed tomorrow, and arsenic levels will be monitored before government gives the “okay.”
For the approximately fifteen people affected, Coombs urges them to not drink the water under any circumstance.
He says it’s not safe to drink, which is why government will monitor the levels after the new filters are installed. After so many days of good tests, the drinking restriction will be lifted.
