The current interim leader of the Progressive Conservatives will not be pursuing the top job, but that doesn’t mean he’s going away.
David Brazil announced yesterday that he will not be pursuing the party leadership on a permanent basis, which will be voted on in the fall.
Much of that decision is due to his health, as he suffered a massive heart attack last year,
However, Brazil, the MHA for Conception Bay East – Bell Island, says if his health allows, he intends to run for his district in the next election.
He says he wants to stay around, but at the moment is focused on getting through the next months, guiding the new leader during the transition phase, and preparing for the next election.
