A man in Akron, Ohio has corrected a problem that was vexing the administration at Holy Spirit High in CBS.
Someone had gone in on Google maps and changed the name of Holy Spirit to ‘Mouldy bread loaf’ leaving school administration a bit red-faced.
Staff had contacted Google to make the change, but to no avail.
Michael Lee of Akron, who is a Google Local Guide, came across the article on VOCM.com and decided to lend a helpful hand, restoring the school’s name to Google searches.
He voluntarily posts reviews and photos to Google maps earning him a Level 7 (out of 10) rating based on points. As he surmises, his Google news feed “knows what I like” and delivered him VOCM’s article about the school’s unfortunate Google maps moniker.
His news feed popped the “Holy Spirit Waiting for Name Change on Google Maps” story up on his phone. He laughed when he saw that someone had changed the school’s name to ‘Mouldy bread loaf’ and decided “the least I can do is attempt to make a name change on Google Maps. So I did.”
Holy Spirit Assistant Principal Denise Oldford says they’re very appreciative.
She says while it’s not the worst thing that could have happened to the school, they are glad the name is back.
