Members of the 103 Search and Rescue Squadron in Gander were called into action to help airlift a patient from an ocean liner approximately 370 km off St. John’s.
The 103 Search and Rescue Squadron and the 413 Squadron out of Greenwood were called by the Joint Task Force in Boston, Massachusetts.
JRCC Halifax says despite dense fog, the patient was hoisted off the ship and flown to St. John’s for treatment in hospital.
