A woman accused of sex offences against children has chosen to be tried by Supreme Court judge and jury.
67-year-old Hannah Clark originally faced six charges, but that was reduced this week to three, including sexual assault, and criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
The preliminary inquiry is set for June 9.
Meanwhile, her husband, 65-year-old Curt Clark, faces 31 of the same charges, as well as bestiality in the presence of a child, sexual interference, and sexual assault with a weapon.
His case will be dealt with again on February 9. when it’s expected pleas will be entered on his behalf.
Neither of the accused have been required to be in court yet.
Curt Clark is a former pastoral care clinician for mental health and addictions with Eastern Health, making the authority’s sunshine list by earing a hundred thousand dollars in 2019.
He’s also a former provincial coordinator for pastoral and spiritual care with the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Boards Association.
There is a publication ban to protect the identities of the alleged victims, but police believe the incidents occurred at a St. John’s residence between 1997 and 2009.
The couple moved to this province from Pennsylvania in the mid-1990s.
