NAPE is joining the chorus of those urging the province not to follow Ontario’s lead in the further privatization of the healthcare system.
President Jerry Earle is calling on the premier to “stand with public healthcare workers in opposition” to a two-tier healthcare system that will cost government more.
Earle says publicly-funded privately owned for-profit provision of health care is not a solution.
Earle is meeting with government today to discuss retention efforts.
He says solutions must be found to keep workers here first, then address recruitment.
