An ongoing issue affecting the Mews Centre pool in St. John’s was compounded yesterday by a watermain break that forced the temporary shut down of the entire facility.
The watermain break on Mundy Pond Road has been fixed, but work continues on an issue that is keeping the pool closed for the time being.
City officials say the problem is related to the system that feeds water to and from the pool.
Work is underway on construction of the new Mews Centre, which will replace the aging facility. In the meantime, scheduled lessons and swims at the old Mews Centre pool are still disrupted while repairs are underway. There is no immediate word on the resumption of pool programming.
