The man accused of a murder in the west end of St. John’s has been committed to stand trial.
The preliminary inquiry wrapped up this morning in provincial court, after which the Judge Mike Madden ruled there is enough evidence to go to trial.
27-year-old Sheldon Hibbs is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 68-year-old Michael King.
The victim’s body was found on a trail between Holbrook Avenue and Waterford Valley High school on May 30, 2021.
The next step is arraignment in Supreme Court, though no date has been set for that yet.
Hibbs, meanwhile, will remain in custody at His Majesty’s Penitentiary.
