Visitation at the Wooden Boat Museum in Winterton, Trinity Bay has slowly returned to pre-pandemic levels.
Spokesperson Jim Dempsey says the attraction has proven a hit with visitors and they’ve been offering more hands-on type of experiences for guests through a recently developed activity centre.
The centre is located in a small renovated building behind the museum. They’ve offered things like rigging, traditional navigation, models that can be assembled and reassembled and information on boat design.
They’ve recently acquired the old SUF Hall across from the museum and a program has been developed to provide information on the importance of the Society of United Fishermen and its role in the province’s history.
