Newfoundland and Labrador has good representation among the latest batch of Juno Award nominees.
The awards will be handed out March 13 in Edmonton.
The Fortunate Ones have been nominated in the Contemporary Roots Album of The Year, while comedian Matt Wright has been nominated in the Comedy Album of the Year category for his album “Here Live, Not A Cat”
The St. John’s based Florian Hoefner Trio is up for Jazz Group of the Year.
Graphic Designer Jud Hayes has received a nod for his design for the Kubasonics Album, Kubasongs in the Album Art Work category.
Composer Bekah Simms received a nomination for Classical Composition of the Year.
St. John’s born rapper Dax is nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
Meanwhile, St. Teresa’s Elementary & Waterford Valley High Teacher Susan Evoy has been nominated for the Music Counts Teacher of the Year.
