The arraignment for a man accused of second-degree murder went off the rails this morning due to his outburst in the court.
Dwayne Ginn’s profanity-laced tirade began as he was led in to Supreme Court, and continued as he was taken away.
He’s charged with killing 41-year-old Mark Hamlyn in June of last year at a Kilbride boarding house.
The owner has told media that Ginn’s mental health issues were a concern leading up to the incident, something Ginn himself confirmed in court this morning, complaining he hasn’t seen a doctor for his PTSD since his arrest last June.
But Ginn went on, calling court a “shit-show”, saying he denounces his Canadian citizenship, and demanding that King Charles himself hear his case.
He repeatedly shouted over Justice Vikas Khaladkar, prompting the judge to order him to shut up, or risk being held in contempt of court.
Trial dates were eventually set for December but that will depend on the results of a mental health assessment between now and then.
