Trial dates were set in two murder cases this morning.
Twenty-eight-year-old Sheldon Hibbs has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder in the death of 68-year-old Michael King.
King’s body was found on a trail between Holbrook Avenue and Waterford Valley High on May 30, 2021.
Hibbs’ trial by judge and jury is set for three weeks in March of next year.
Sulurayok Trial Date Set
The trial for one Nunavut man accused of killing another on Roaches Line in June of 2021 is also scheduled for next year.
30-year-old Patrick Sulurayok is charged with second-degree murder in the death of Bernard Otuk during a fight at Hillside Cottages.
They were crewmembers from a fishing vessel docked in Bay Roberts at the time.
That will also be a trial by judge and jury, and is expected to start a year from now and last a month.
