RCMP say a man is in police custody following a dramatic sequence of events in Grand Falls-Windsor that resulted in a warning to area residents.
Shortly after 10 a.m. police issued an advisory for residents in the High Street and Church Road areas to stay inside and lock their doors due to an “unfolding incident.”
Shortly after 11 a.m. police announced that one man had been taken into custody and there was no longer a risk to public safety.
Residents can resume normal activities.
Further information is expected later today.
