It was a case of right place, right time for a group of snowmobilers on the west coast who saved the life of a trapped moose over the weekend.
Morgan Hynes says the group was travelling on White River Road near Cormack when they stopped for some lunch.
That’s when one of their friends, Stephen Gardiner, found the moose trapped in a hole in the snow.
Hynes says so much snow fell that it was like Styrofoam, and the group had to dig out a ramp for the moose to get out.
The moose was eventually able to walk away, but she says the animal was in rough shape.
She says it seemed like the moose had been down there for a while—he was shaking and couldn’t get his bearings to stand up.
