A 22-year-old man is dead, and police are deeming his death suspicious as they investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The RNC is asking the public for CCTV or dash cam footage from a wide area of the centre city in the hours leading up to the incident.
Officers were called to the Mayor Avenue and Newtown Road area yesterday around 5:00 p.m. and found a 22-year-old man with serious injuries.
They immediately cordoned off the area and the man was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police are treating the man’s death as suspicious and the Chief Medical Examiner, and a Major Case Management Team are involved in the investigation.
RNC do not believe there are any immediate concerns to public safety.

Anyone with information or video footage in the area from the Rabbittown, Mayor Avenue, Newtown Road, Salisbury Street, Empire Avenue, Holyes Avenue or surrounding area between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. yesterday is asked to contact the RNC at 729-8000 or to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
Police remain in the area today, canvassing the neighbourhood looking for more information as the investigation continues.
Residents of the area are curious about what may have happened, but they tell VOCM News they are not afraid.
