As the strike between Memorial University and the Faculty Association continues it looks as though tensions between the university and another union may be escalating.
MUNFA held a rally at the Arts and Administration Building over the lunch hour as their strike action nears the two week mark.
Alison Coffin, an economics professor and communications spokesperson for the Lecturer’s Union at MUN, spoke at the rally.
She indicates that talks between MUN and that union, which represents part-time faculty, have not be going well.
Coffin says they have not had a deal since August 2021, and earlier today they filed for conciliation.
