A new video has been released showing the latest images of the bow portion of the most famous shipwreck in history—RMS Titanic.
Stockton Rush is the founder and CEO of OceanGate Inc, the company that developed a state-of-the-art submersible to take researchers and adventure tourists two miles down to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean to see the wreck.
He says unlike ROVs, the submersible is not tethered, which allows them much more maneuverability.
An ROV tethered to a ship means that it must stay to the general area of the ship on the surface. With his submersible, they have a lot more freedom to move about.
Rush made his most recent descent to the Titanic over the summer and is planning another trip this year. He’s back in St. John’s for the launch of a new 20-minute short film about their last trip to the Titanic and how the wreck has changed over the years.
Rory Golden of the Belfast Titanic Society has been to the wreck site numerous times, and narrates the film which you can see on YouTube.
