The City of St. John’s is expected to make a decision soon regarding security at its two major parks.
The motion put forward is to approve for on-site security for Bannerman and Bowring Park, something the city says is needed due to recent vandalism and arsons at park amenities.
The issue recently led to the decision to close the washrooms at Bannerman Park after business hours.
By providing security in the parks, the city hopes to re-open the washrooms and prevent any further damages.
