Restaurants on the eastern portion of the island took a hit this week on what would have been one of the busiest nights in a normally quiet time of year.
Chair of Hospitality Newfoundland and Labrador, Brenda O’Reilly, says it’s already been a hard winter with a lot of storms hitting on the weekends.
“To lose Valentine’s Day on top of it,” says O’Reilly, “is very hard on the industry,” which relies heavily on the revenue generated on the holiday.
