A man has been arrested and charged in connection to a homicide in the centre city of St. John’s.
21-year-old Robert Belbin is facing charges of second degree murder in connection to the death of 22-year-old Seamus Secord.
Police responded to the incident in the Mayor Avenue area on February 7. Upon arrival, they discovered Secord who had suffered serious injuries and later died as a result.
Following an investigation, police ruled the death a homicide and later arrested Belbin on Friday evening without incident.
Belbin was previously arrested in connection with a string of shootings, as well as a stabbing on George Street.
He’s currently being held to appear in court later today.
