An event celebrating Black History Month is set to go ahead in the capital city this afternoon.

The Black Excellence event will feature a number of panelists coming together to share different cultures, provide information for newcomers, and celebrate black history.

Entertainment will be provided by various African artists and attendees are encouraged to dress in interpretations of their culture and heritage.

The event takes place at the St. John’s Farmers Market from noon to 5:00 p.m.
