Premier Andrew Furey took in the 2023 Canada Winter Games opening ceremonies in Charlottetown this week.
He cheered on local athletes in a number of sports and he’s proud of the caliber of athletic performance the province is able to produce.
He attended a variety of competition, including table tennis, squash, hockey and wheelchair basketball.
Newfoundland and Labrador is hosting the Canada Summer Games in 2025 and Furey says he learned a lot attending the Charlottetown opening ceremonies.
“Let’s just say we’re going to blow the roof off Mile One when we get ‘er done.”
