Lighting along the stretch of Pitts Memorial Drive from Kilbride to New Gower Street will be replaced starting this spring.
The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure says a contract worth $14.7 million was awarded to Complete Concrete Solutions last fall to replace the median, light poles and electrical wiring along the highway between Kilbride and the downtown.
The contract also includes culvert replacements and repairs to the CN Viaduct. The light work is expected to be completed later this year.
Pitts Memorial is one of the few stretches of highway in the province that is lit.
The viaduct work is expected to continue into 2024.
