Three people are facing charges—including a truck driver, and two mechanics—in connection with a fatal crash involving a tractor trailer on the Peacekeepers Way in CBS back in June.
A 56-year-old St. John’s man was killed on June 7, 2022 when his car was struck by a semi on the highway near Fowler’s Road and Minerals Road. RNC investigators determined that mechanical issues affected the operation of the tractor trailer. The investigation also uncovered negligence and fraud related to required vehicle inspections on the rig.
The driver of the truck, 27-year-old Samuel Tessier of Mount Pearl, has been charged with criminal negligence causing death. Meanwhile, two mechanics are also facing charges.
Fifty-nine-year-old mechanic Cecil Walsh of Paradise has been charged with criminal negligence causing death, 59 counts of fraud and 19 counts of uttering a forged document.
Another mechanic, 66-year-old Terry Barnes of Goulds, is facing 40 counts of uttering a forged document.
