The province’s Serious Incident Response Team has laid some serious charges against an RCMP officer in Corner Brook.
SIRT-NL Director Michael King says the investigation was initiated at the request of the RCMP, and last June the accused, Constable Michael Hann, was arrested.
Now, Hann is facing three charges related to the alleged offences. Those are possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized use of a computer, and breach of trust.
Hann will appear in court on April 18 to answer to the charges.
SIRT-NL says as the matter is now proceeding through the court they will be making no further comment on the situation.
