The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has laid additional charges against 21-year-old Robert Belbin for his alleged connection to a string of violent incidents that occurred in metro last year.
The incidents happened in May and June, and included shootings and a stabbing on George Street.
Belbin was initially charged with aggravated assault and robbery with violence in connection with the stabbing, while others were also charged following the incidents.
Now, he is facing a slew of new charges.
Those include uttering threats, discharging a firearm, and other firearms related offences in connection to a shooting incident in Galway on May 13th; assault with a weapon, discharging a firearm, and other firearms related offences in connection to an incident on Goldfinch Drive in Paradise on May 21st; and numerous firearms offences for an incident on Baker Street in St. John’s on June 5th.
Belbin was also recently charged with murder following the death of 22-year-old Seamus Secord in the Mayor Avenue area of St. John’s last month.
Belbin appeared in court today to answer to the new charges against him. His next court appearance is set for March 13th.
