Metro police have taken a couple of impaired drivers off the road in the last 24 hours.
Police received a report of a possible drug impaired driver on Hamlyn Road around 9:30 Friday night. A 22-year-old man was found passed out behind the wheel.
When asked to comply with a sobriety test, the man refused and was arrested on charges of impaired and refusal.
The second incident happened early Saturday morning when police pulled over a driver in downtown St. John’s. The driver, who showed signs of impairment, provided a breath sample over the legal limit.
The 34-year-old man has been charged with impaired driving.
Both drivers had their vehicles impounded and will appear in court at a later date.
