Team NL is returning to the province as the Canada Winter Games have officially wrapped up in Charlottetown, PEI.
Hundreds of athletes from this province competed in various sports during the two week event, earning four medals in total—two of which were gold.
Eighteen-year-old gymnast Gleb Evstigneev won NL’s first medal during week one, claiming gold in men’s trampoline, while 13-year-old Maddox Glover finished first in Special Olympics Level II Figure Skating.
Figure Skating Pair Lily Evans and Mark Butt took home bronze late last week. Mike Gosine won NL’s final medal on Saturday evening, taking home bronze in boxing.
The next Canada Games are set for August 2025 when St. John’s will host.
